Chiropractic therapy & manual medicine.

Chiropractic therapy (from the Greek “chiro” = hand) is a special form of manual medicine. Using targeted hand techniques, we treat functional disorders of the spine and joints – gently, precisely and based on careful diagnosis.

In short

In Germany, chiropractic therapy (Chirotherapie) is medical manual medicine performed by doctors: after examination and ruling out risks, targeted, gentle techniques release blockages in the spine and joints. Typical uses include lumbago, neck pain, cervical blockages and muscle tension. Dr Rode also offers extended treatment with osteopathic techniques (self-pay).

How we work

How chiropractic therapy works, what a treatment involves and what is possible with osteopathic techniques.

How it works

How does chiropractic therapy work?

The focus is on blocked or restricted areas, which often cause pain, stiffness or accompanying nerve symptoms. Targeted, gentle techniques mobilise the affected joints, relax the surrounding muscles and restore natural mobility.

When is chiropractic therapy not used?

In cases of acute, severe pain or certain risk conditions – such as inflammation, fractures or severe neurological deficits – the treatment is adapted or temporarily not performed. Accurate diagnosis and explanation are the basis of every treatment.

Process

What to expect.

  1. Examination

    Detailed diagnosis and physical examination.

  2. Safety

Ruling out risk factors (e.g. inflammation, fractures, neurological deficits).

  3. Mobilisation

Targeted manual mobilisation of the affected joints.

  4. Combination

If needed, combined with physiotherapy, rehabilitation or medication.

Extended · Dr Rode

With osteopathic techniques.

Self-pay (IGeL)

For patients who want an even more comprehensive approach, Dr Rode offers extended chiropractic treatments that also include osteopathic techniques. Rather than treating only the directly affected joint, the musculoskeletal system is considered as a whole.

This more time-intensive form of treatment is not covered by statutory insurance and is billed privately as an individual health service. We are happy to advise you whether this approach makes sense for your complaints.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about chiropractic therapy.

Is German “Chirotherapie” the same as chiropractic?

In Germany, Chirotherapie is practised by medical doctors as an additional qualification and is based on a conventional medical diagnosis. It is therefore firmly rooted in medical manual medicine.

Does chiropractic therapy help with lumbago?

Yes, lumbago is one of the most common applications. After ruling out risk factors, targeted mobilisation can bring rapid relief.

Is chiropractic therapy painful?

Treatment uses gentle, precise techniques. Most patients find it pleasant.

When must chiropractic therapy not be performed?

In cases of acute inflammation, fractures or severe neurological deficits, treatment is adapted or postponed. Prior diagnostics clarify this.

How many sessions are needed?

That depends on your complaints and is discussed with you after the examination.

Does the practice offer osteopathic treatment?

In addition to classic chiropractic therapy, Dr Rode performs extended treatments using osteopathic techniques. These are offered as a self-pay service.

Can osteopathic techniques relieve tinnitus?

For functional ear noises related to tension or blockages in the cervical spine and jaw, the osteopathic approach may support relief as a complementary self-pay service.

Do the techniques help with TMJ disorders?

Yes, the extended treatment can be used for jaw joint problems and craniomandibular dysfunction (CMD) – as an individual health service.
