Treatment method · ACP

ACP – autologous blood therapy in Aachen-Laurensberg.

ACP (autologous conditioned plasma) is a therapy using your own blood. From a small blood sample we prepare a plasma with concentrated platelets, which is injected into the affected area. We use it for complaints of the joints, tendons and muscles.

In short

ACP uses your body’s own material: blood draw, preparation and injection take place during the same appointment. We set the number and interval of treatments individually. ACP is a self-pay service (IGeL) and is not covered by German statutory health insurance.

What ACP is, how the treatment works and what you should know about the costs.

The method

What is ACP?

ACP stands for autologous conditioned plasma. “Autologous” means it comes from you. We draw a small amount of blood and prepare it in the practice using a closed double-syringe system. This produces a plasma in which platelets are concentrated. We then inject this plasma into the affected area.

ACP is one of the PRP methods (platelet-rich plasma). Because only your own blood is used, no foreign substances are injected.

Planned individually

Whether ACP is an option for you is decided in a personal consultation after examination and diagnostics. The response to treatment varies from person to person. We decide the number and interval of treatments together with you. ACP does not replace other measures but can complement them, such as exercise, physiotherapy or other conservative treatment.

Information in a personal consultation
